We might have dropped a hint here and there. Now it’s time unveil big news: since July 2020 we are collaborating with The Orthopaedic Hospital Vienna-Speising!
Our approach of spreading the word of our idea, ask for feedback, discuss potentials, seems to pay off! Mid 2020 was the start of a great collaboration between reha buddy and the Orthopaedic Hospital Vienna-Speising. The therapists already use our solution completely autonomously for the 6-Minute-Walk-Test with their patients.
In summer 2020 we presented our innovative solution for the frist time. After some tests with the physiotherapists in the role of the patients and tailoring the solution to the clinics’ needs, the next step was secured. When we packed our smartphones, belly bags and user guides in early October, we were pretty nervous. We were about to deliver the result of uncountable working hours and efforts to a clinic that relies solely on reha buddy in this regard! Just to be clear: we were 100% convinced about our solution, but equipping a partner with it and eliminating the possibility of supervision caused mixed feelings. So we, Harald, Andrés und Katrin, entered the clinic with excitement – the only thing we could do now was rely on our past work.
After a short introduction and explanation of the use of the reha buddy app, we had a final testing and demonstration session. No problems occurred and it should remain this way for the upcoming weeks!
The Orthopaedic Hospital Vienna-Speising used reha buddy for a period of three months to measure the status quo and progress of all patients dealing with ….. More precisely, the app was used for the 6-Minute-Walk-Test, that is done with every patient before and after therapy. For us as a company, that delivered great insights into potential needs and requirements that should be focused on in product development.
The therapists were particularly happy about the following benefits of using reha buddy:
- Less work with documentation
- Getting rid of tasks like distance measuring and stopping the time
- Objective evaluation of a patient’s progress based on numeric data
These feedbacks are of immense importance to us! It proved our expectation, which is to minimize repetitive work and make documentation easier. Additionally, we ensure transparency and objectivity – both becoming more important also in physiotherapy. We’re currently working on more assessments, following our vision: people should stay mobile and independent for as long as possible!
